Your Motivation To Attain Enlightenment Will Probably Fail

If you’re reading this, you probably have enough positivity in your life (also known as karmic merit) to spiritually chill out. For life! No need to run to the Himalayas and live in a cave, desperate to awaken your hidden potential.

You’ll have a decently comfortable life. You’re smart, empathetic, and likeable. (You probably wouldn’t even be interested in reading this if it were otherwise).

So in all likelihood, spirituality is just a booster for your mental health. It’s the balm that soothes your soul when nothing else can.

A stimulator that there is more amidst a modernity that insists ‘this is all there is.’

And this is simply not enough.

The suffering of the world must awaken you.

You have to motivate your being before, during, and after each session of spiritual practice with a different kind of impulse.

To blossom for others. To be such a powerful force of positivity that you can steer their journey away from the currents of misery.

Virtue has a cost.
