Only Now is a beautiful short film by Thom Haig that explores how an awareness of the improbability of being here leads to a sense of gratitude.

“Breathing in and out and in
Here.
Now.
Simply existing
The perfect consequence of innumerable, interconnected, insignificant events
Across unbelievable distances
Against unimaginable odds
Out of the chaos of chance meetings and violence and confusion and love
to be here
An impossible series of accidents and choices
of mistakes and triumphs
Of then to be
turning away.
To be
distracted.
Twisted in thought
everywhere at once
and nowhere at all
searching endless landscapes for meaning
for something else
for something more
Searching. Everywhere but here
searching.
Breathing out and in and out
here. Now.
Simply existing
and the distractions blur, melt
accepting.
Out of chaos. Against the unthinkable.
From within the impossible
to be here.
From then to be now.
Right now”
