Want to sell your art? Need to pick the right platform for digital downloads, selling pictures, photographs, creative content or even services for sale?

Shopify is the ideal platform for artists, makers, creative and inspired entrepreneurs of ALL types, simply because it has the lowest “tech” barrier of entry. (no hosting to set up, no ecommerce plugins to configure, no themes to install and tweak, and nothing to do, other than upload your art, drive traffic, build your brand, have some fun and make sales!)

Shopify is super affordable ($29 per month for a starter site — although you can start with a 100% free trial, here) and is truly the easiest, no stress, no mess, no obstacle approach to launching your art store, in a short afternoon.

Wordpress, as a point of contrast, is great — and free, but to really sell your art in a skillful way, you’ll need to install WooCommerce, a few premium extensions, invest in solid managed WP hosting, buy a premium theme (although optional) and in general, be much more savvy in the tech management arena, than you would be on a pure hosted ecommerce platform. (like Shopify offers)

You can also use Shopify to sell OTHER people’s art — e.g. — you can start a curated art marketplace, or you can become an affiliate for art products you like, use and recommend, and literally make amazing money recommending art supplies to you readers — OR, actual art for sale, from artists you like and recommend. (and earn affiliate commissions as well)
