Welcome to Mindfulness Matters!

This is a new publication created to spread knowledge on all aspects of mindfulness. In this busy world, it’s easy to get caught up with daydreaming about the future and regretting the past. However, with mindfulness, we can improve the quality of our lives and live in the present moment.

Mindfulness is gaining more popularity in the mainstream media, and we would like this to be a source of credible information for both beginners and experts on mindfulness.

The overarching theme of mindfulness holds an infinite possibility of subtopics to write about, but here are some key topics we would like to include in our publication:

Books: Book reviews and lessons learned from books related to meditation and mindfulness.

Wellness: Mindfulness has a myriad of physical and mental health benefits. We are interested in articles on how mindfulness has enhanced your life, backed with research.

Meditation/Breathing Techniques: Share effective breathing techniques and meditation tips for beginners.

Keep in mind that truly, we would love to publish anything related to mindfulness (as long as it’s family-friendly content)! Don’t feel pressured to only write within these subtopics.

Important Notes:

  • If you join us as a writer, please write for Mindfulness Matters as often as you can (whether that’s once a week or once a month). We would like dedicated writers who engage with the publication.
  • Pictures: Make sure you credit the original photographer and where you found the image. Unsplash makes sourcing especially easy.
  • Share your personal experiences: How has practicing mindfulness improved your life? Adding a personal touch to an article makes it more interesting.
  • Editing: We won’t change the content of your story, but we’ll fix minor grammar mistakes. Please run your story through Grammarly before submitting.
  • Be supportive: Let’s learn from each other, not only in writing better content, but also on how to stay mindful in our lives. Engage with others’ writing, and leave a comment if an article resonated with you!
  • We accept both drafts and previously self-published stories.

If you would like to join Mindfulness Matters as a writer, please comment below with your Medium username and 1–2 sentences on why you would like to join our publication. We’re excited to start taking submissions and kickstart Mindfulness Matters!
