Flamboyant SEO — Upgrading Landing Page to Boost Organic Traffic

Treat this blog as a workbook. List of actionable upgrades you can make on your target SEO pages along with real-life example of how those upgrades have been helping the site.

We track the numbers for the period preceding 1st September, which is when we kicked off the upgrades. Every 2 weeks, okay 4 (I’m eternally swamped), we’ll post an update on what upgrades have we made. And track monthly traffic.

This is for one of my dearest websites, CN. ContentNinja. Been working with CN for 6 years almost. Mostly on clients, though, god keeps our pipeline beefy so our marketing stays on the backburner more often than we’d like (don’t take that as a learning).

Now,

Target Page: The Content Marketing page for CN, one of the biggest assets on the site. Probably second biggest after the good reputation that the agency commands in the industry.

Stats for August:

For August ’24 (rankings have had a hit in the past 6 months or so)

As you can see, a total of 83 clicks from Google Search in India from queries related to “content marketing”.

Hammer time now.

1st September — Upgrades #1

Here are the activities I performed:

  • Increased KW instances (from 6–7 KW instances to ~12 instances of target KWs and LSI versions)
  • Changed ALT text of images (from descriptive texts of images to having some KWs mentioned in it)
  • Created 10 new internal links (from highly contextual pages)
  • Changed H2 (4 instances with LSI versions of target KWs)
