Dwarrows: Indie Adventure Town-Building Game
The Wood Elves have been displaced from their homeland. It’s up to you and 3 heroes, with unique specialties, to build a new home for them in the wilds of the Dusken Woodlands.
This is Dwarrows by Lithic Entertainment.
In this 3rd-person adventure town-builder, you’re tasked with creating a town that the Wood Elves can call home. Once you’ve entered Dusken Woodlands, there are 3-core focuses your team of heroes will be able to take on. The first focus is to get your town to flourish.
This is done through:
- Gathering resources
- Building needed elements to keep your inhabitants happy and productive
- Finding other Wood Elves in the wilds to become citizens
And just as Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither will your town. But it’s OK because you’ll have 3 heroes with specialties that will have a big impact.
There is Dwilben, the Dwarf, who is a great resource gatherer with both pick and axe. You also have Gloia, a Gnome builder, who’s mighty amazing with a hammer and can build, as well as repair, just about anything. And finally, we have Horbir, an ex-thief turned artifact and treasure hunter.
The second focus you’ll take on with this motley crew is exploration. There are plenty of people in the Dusken Woodlands who have quests for an able-bodied adventurer like yourself. If you succeed on your quests you’ll be rewarded with things that can further help the success of your town.
And the final focus is taking on the Trials provided to you by the Watcher. You’ll face a dungeon of interesting and fun puzzles in order to receive bountiful rewards; if you can make it to the end.
When all is said and done, Dwarrows is a light-hearted family-friendly game that you can easily spend hours in. The quirky characters are entertaining, the puzzles are engaging, and the city-management gets you thinking.
