Egypt, 1930’s. Erased from ancient history and buried in a nameless tomb for 4,000 years, Seteki the Witch Queen has risen once again.

Only one troop of daring heroes can stand against the fearsome power of Seteki and her army of mummified monstrosities: The Strange Brigade!

Thus, begins Strange Brigade, a third-person co-op shooter developed and published by well-known British game developer, Rebellion Developments. If you loved the film The Mummy — this game is definitely for you! Historical action adventure with a motley team of unlikely heroes, gorgeous vistas and ancient puzzle plus a humorous narrator to boot! There’s a lot to love.

In this game, you and your team explore intricate ruins, solve perilous puzzles and uncover tantalizing treasure while you fight your way through armies of the undead and strike down powerful mythological enemies. There’s a campaign mode that showcases an intriguing story, or you can test your mettle in two other game modes: horde or score attack.

You can choose from 4 very interesting and different characters at the start — with several others available as DLCs. Each character unlocks weapons, gear, and special skills so you can tailor your gameplay to your preferred playstyle. There are sniper rifles, shotguns, pistols, grenades (fire and freezing), land mines and more! Each map also has weapon chests you can spend your gold on to get special and powerful weapons — but they are limited use: once their ammo is gone, so is the weapon.

The special skills range from summoning a little undead army of your own to help, to unleashing a lightning storm. You can only have one skill selected at a time, and you must collect the souls of the dead into your amulet to charge up your skill so you can activate it.

Each map has an overall objective, but you can also find hidden treasures by dispatching cat statues, picking up lore books, and discovering precious relics. Besides bestowing you with knowledge about ancient Egypt, collecting a full set of relics from the different maps allows you to unlock additional skills for your characters.

The game and its DLCs are out now for PC and console, and you have the option to play by yourself, with a select group of friends, or open your team co-op to anyone. If you’re ready for some rip-roaring, 1930’s British inspired Egyptian adventure — then jump right into the Strange Brigade — you’ll have a grand ol’ time!
