Volcanoids: First-Person Steampunk Survival Game 🤖

In a world where humans and technology collide, return to your home island, now taken over by violent volcanic eruptions and aggressive mechanical beings. Will you be able to reclaim what was once yours?

Build, Survive, and Endure. This is Volcanoids.

You’re a part of a group of exiles, from the island of Adranos, who’ve secured funding to return to their homeland to reclaim it. At the start of the game, you’ve just reached the shores thanks to the Archimedes submarine. You’ll speak with the captain to learn more about the current situation and he’ll supply you with missions to get you started.

One of the first important things you’ll notice when you step foot onshore is the counter at the top center of the screen. Every 19+ minutes (depending on the difficulty you chose) the volcano will erupt and you’ll need to find shelter. Your first shelter will be the Archimedes but as you explore farther out, you’ll need something that can travel with you.

This is where the drillship comes in!

The drillship is your mobile base where you’ll:

• Store resources
• Craft needed items
• Take refuge during an eruption or COG attack (more on COGs soon)
• Go underground to quickly travel the island and mine for resources

You’ll be able to design the general layout of your drillship by choosing where to place crafting areas, power supplies, storage units, and much more. Keep in mind that all parts of the drillship need power. It’ll be up to you to figure out how much power you’ll need and how to manage the flow of that power to the different parts.

Once you get a good workflow built out for your drillship, you’ll want to explore everything the island has to offer. Volcanoids won’t make it a cakewalk though. You’ll not only need to avoid the volcanic eruptions and the underground magma but also the group of aggressive robots known as COGs. They’ll attack on-sight as well as block exits to the surface with their own drillships. They may also be a tad angry that you commandeered one of their drillships as your own.
