What is Superliminal + Ending Reaction 👀 | Brains will explode!

This is Superliminal by Pillow Castle Games.

In this video, I’m going to give a quick introduction to what you can expect in Superliminal. At the end of the video, you’ll find my reaction to the end of the game from our Twitch live stream. Be aware that the end of this video will have some spoiler-esque content. Also, if you enjoy the video, I encourage you to Like and Comment on your thoughts of the game as well.

So, what is Superliminal?

It’s a first-person puzzle game that gets players to explore a surreal world. In the beginning, you learn that you’ve signed an agreement to become a patient at the Pierce Institute to try out their SomnaSculpt technology. This technology assists the patient with dream therapy. As you traverse this dream world, you’ll be guided by the very blunt AI Protocol System and Dr. Glenn Pierce.

It doesn’t take long before you learn that your experiment has gone awry and Dr. Pierce can’t seem to figure out where in the dream world you are, which means they can’t pull you back to the real world. It’s then up to you to travel through versions of the institute, a hotel, an art gallery, a swimming pool, and other locales in order to escape. As you take on these tasks, just keep in mind that perception is reality.

For each of the puzzles, you’ll have to:

• Figure out ways of changing the size of objects (or yourself)
• Find the right angle to create objects
• Have the willingness to experiment with new tactics when past mechanics don’t work the same as before

Overall, this game is a lot of fun. The creativity and challenge of the puzzles are impressive as well as engaging. The story that unveils itself makes the time you’ve spent in the game well worth it. And the sound design is impressive.
