Android Q will bring up lots of goodies this year for smartphone users

Yesterday, Google has rolled out the first beta version of Android Q. And for the first time, Google has released beta 1 along with developer preview of its upcoming version of the Android family. And this is the most awaiting product s of Google, which will bring several new features for Android users. So, don’t waste our time, let’s move to explore new features.

⛳️ Dark theme finally here for the whole system

According to Google, this is the best feature of OS, for effectively optimize smartphone’s battery. The Android Q beta version also comes with Dark Theme that can be enabled once you turn on the battery saver switch.

⛳ ️More control on app’s access to your location

Google is renovating user privacy by limiting access to the location by apps in Android Q. Earlier, the user can only allow/disallow location for an app. Now, there’s the third option that lets the app see you location only while the location is on.

⛳️ Fast file sharing option now available

File sharing has also become easier in Android Q. Users will now see a faster loading and more useful menu while sharing a file. While sharing a URL, the option to copy the link is seen on top of the menu.

⛳ ️Innovative battery indicator

Android Q also changes the way the remaining battery life is shown on the top corner of the screen. Alternatively of the battery percentage users now will see text like ‘Until 7:20 PM’ It is said that texts like these will show up only after a specific battery level.

This is a feature also included in Android Q beta version. And this option can be seen in the “Developer Options” and is similar to what OnePlus’s Oxygen OS has been wearing since months.

⛳️ To connect with Wi-Fi without showing the password

Connecting to a Wi-Fi network become easier with this OS. Users need to do a scanning QR code and hurrah!!! device connected to Wi-Fi. This means you don’t always have to enter the Wi-Fi password.

⛳️ 3rd party apps’ camera to get better

Android Q will grant app developers to access pitch data of images. They will be able to obtain data carrying information on the distance of objects from the camera lens. This will start to better camera results via 3rd party apps.

⛳️ Support for additional Audio and Video formats

The new OS version now supports open source video codec AV1. This means that high-quality video content can be streamed to Android devices using less bandwidth.

⛳️ New App alert options

Long pressing an app notification will now show users more helpful options to block them, show silently or keep alerting the way it was. Until Android Pie, the choices shown were ‘Stop Notifications’ and ‘Keep showing

⛳️ New ‘Desktop Mode’

Android Q Beta 1 also has something named as the ‘Desktop Mode’ wherein the device seamlessly connects with the external display.

⛳️ Support for foldable screen

Android Q supports a foldable screen. Its most emerging screen technology (Image source TOI)

As expected, Android Q will be supporting foldable screens. It is likely to change the UI positions and other elements in the home screens as soon as the device is folded.
