The Blockchain increases trust through transparency. When there is transparency the friction is removed, expectations are managed, and true and genuine collaboration occurs. Currently, the only way to build trust is through valid data. Data on the Blockchain is valid, distributed, and immutable. There is no central place of attack or failure. Therefore, I believe that this author fails to understand why trust is an issue within society, because you cannot simply demand trust, nor can you wave a wand and create trust with a ‘magical Blockchain.’ But rather, the protocols and governance, along with the distributed nature, which underlie data on the Blockchain, coupled with the coordinating transparency of this data, in turn, is what builds the trust that thereby, sustains and reinforces the Blockchain.
