But Mindy, you have a gifted talent, and no matter how much you try to shun it, it will emerge. That’s exactly what Emily and your friends from China showed you and, in return, taught us all a profound life lesson. That if you are gifted, someday it will show. If you suck at it initially, it’s not to tell yourself that you are bad at it. It is telling yourself that you need more practice. Oh, and you just melted our hearts when you sang that song in the park.
Don’t Take Life Too Seriously
When Emily broke up with her boyfriend, she felt like her life was pointless and never should have come to Paris. But you were her sunshine and explained to her that Paris is a city of adventure and you don’t know what happens next. Similarly, life, too, is an adventure, and we don’t know what tomorrow brings.
Life may be crap at one moment, while the next it surprises you with even better things than you can have imagined. You made us realise that we must not lose hope. Because the moment we do, for all you know, the next day was the day that your dreams may have finally come true.
You Must Not Be Ashamed of How You Feel
We cannot control our emotions. You said it so perfectly when Emily confessed her feelings for Gabriel. But instead of laying strict rules of black and white, you told her to relax and explore the different shades of grey her emotions will lead to.
We are so afraid to accept how we feel. But Mindy, your friendship and non-judgemental advice are what makes life worth it. And this is why we fell in love with you the moment you met Emily in the park.
Lay All the Consequences, But the Ultimate Decision Is Yours
You know how to lay everything out in the open and not let anything stay hidden. While Emily was conflicted with betraying her recent friend and Gabriel’s girlfriend Camille, you supported Emily and, in a funny way, showed her what can be the possible outcome if the truth is out in the open.
You aren’t afraid, to tell the truth to your best friends. But you are also the best secret keeper. You respected Emily’s emotions and stayed oblivious when Emily, Gabriel and Camille were enjoying dinner. That tells us constantly to respect people’s secrets because they are not yours to tell.
Oh, Mindy, I wish we all had someone like you in our lives. Especially now when we are healing from the pandemic, and everyone craves moral support. But you be you and be there for Emily. We will get through whatever we are going through and be rooting for your and Emily’s friendship.
