I’ve spent so many hours enraptured by your beauty — the golden rays that lightly dust the mountaintops before fading to a mellow alpenglow, the brilliant blue atmosphere fading at the horizon before giving way to a plum sky. Often times, I have gazed upward and marveled at your white clouds as they darkened to a soft gray before becoming silhouettes whose edges are set ablaze by moonbeams.

You are a time of wonder, a time of legends, when the earth is enveloped in a beauty that is not so apparent during the bright hours of day nor the darkness of night, but only for a few fleeting minutes of transition in between, a few moments of the day that awaken me to the possibility that there may be a God, for it seems doubtful that even the power of nature could produce a world so sublime.

So many evenings, regardless of season, whether the heavy air of summer or the crisp, clear air of winter, have shown me the miracle of stars arriving and dotting the sky like glittering diamonds mined from the darkest depths, the first wave of nocturnal warriors to signal the coming night, illuminating the pale blue beyond in resplendent artistry, showing me that our world is a masterpiece, a unique and beautiful blend of life and grace.

Thank you for the times, the sights, the wonder, and the inspiration.

Sincerely,
Kevin Pittack
