Podcast Episode #28: Kitty’s Story
From Mental Health Nurse to Mental Health Advocate
I recorded this conversation with Kitty a few months ago on the Isle of Wight. Kitty’s story is fascinating. After spending 31 years working as a mental health nurse for the NHS, after clinically dying due to medical negligence she found herself on the other side of the mental health services, giving her a unique perspective of both sides — the role of the mental health professional and that of the service user. Kitty’s story revolves around depression, anxiety, PTSD and the road to rediscovering herself and using her second chance at life to make the difference she wants to see in the world.
