This week we have a very cool project and store to introduce to you. Andrea Grows, by Serste in the Bottegadiserste store :)
Why do we think it is cool? You buy an NFT — which is the black and white version of the real comic — and receive a box in your home with a glass turnip, some turnip seeds and the physical comic in colour!
To bring the whole thing closer to you, we decided to interview Serste:
Who are you?
I’m Serena, also known as Serste. I’m a farmer and digital artist.
What is Andrea Grows?
‘Andrea grows’ is an interactive webcomic series about a young farmer on the verge of revolutionary changes in agriculture.
When did it start?
The comic was born during my research about sustainable agricultural practices when I first learned about one of Permaculture’s key principles, the Fair Share.
While trying to understand the forces at play in the land around me, a rich library of trusted blogs, institutions’ websites and scientific papers was accumulating, so I wanted to imagine an accessible way for farmers like me to approach these themes.
What is the flow for the buyer? What do they get?
The person who collects one of the 15 editions of ‘Andrea grows — Climate change’ on Mintbase will receive the physical Collector box and the final version of the first comic strip.
As we designed this experience with Lenara and Elisa, we strived to keep quality and unicity as top priorities: the box, shipped worldwide, features:
- a handmade Tiffany glass pin
- an original sketch on paper
- a selection of three varieties of turnip seeds
- Andrea grows first Stickers set
‘Andrea grows’ revenues are shared between the artists creating the physical objects, a different one for each comic strip, and Regrò, the conservation and reforestation project I founded in Tuscany in 2019.
When did you go live?
‘Andrea grows’ is live already: the first comic strip ‘Andrea grows — Section 1, comic strip 1, B/W’ is available for 15 NEAR at my Mintbase store, Bottega di Serste.
The finished comic strip will be airdropped to each of the 15 collectors’ wallets on July 26, 2022, and I will reach out to gather delivery information for the real-life box to be sent as well.
After being revealed to the collectors, the finished comic strip will be published on ‘Andrea grows’ website, and connected to informative articles and papers for everybody to access.
