Tool: How to set up an API Key on Kraken
The Mintfort portfolio tracker requires API keys of your exchange accounts to sync your portfolio constantly.
Setting up an API key in your Kraken account is quite simple and here is how you do it:
First of all login to your account. In the menu bar you need to go into „Settings -> „API“ as shown below.
Once you are in the API Key Management section, scroll down and click „Generate New Key“.
Next step is to set preferences of the key you are about to generate. Safety measurements are the most important part here! Please make sure that you are disabling the „Withdraw Funds“ option as long as you want to use Mintfort only as a portfolio tracker. The settings below are our recommended ones for now.
Congrats! You just generated your API Key. The key consists of two parts, the API key and the Private key. To use the Mintfort app properly, you will need both of them.
