Around me the world moves in a blur — anchored in place by a force that seems to no longer effect me. I’m flying? No, I’m running. With each stride, my body becomes more and more aware of it’s surroundings. The mid-day heat is ferocious and has triggered my body to produce a thick, yet satisfying sweat. The chain around my neck pounds my chest metronomically — in perfect harmony with my cadence. My mind is focused. I know where I am going and where I need to be. The sight of a tall oak in the distance prompts me to take a peak at my watch; 00:20.37 and counting…

Minute Snippet is a personal series that challenges me to write everyday. I take a small moment in my day, significant or not, and describe it in a minute or less. If you enjoyed today’s Minute Snippet please leave a 👏 and subscribe for more!
