The engine roars to life and I take an involuntary deep breath. The stale and dry air in the cockpit tingles my throat, but that doesn’t matter. Vibrations shake my spine, reminding me that I am in the stomach of a beast. It begins a slow roll, one that slowly builds into a speed that traps me in my seat. Through the window the world moves in a blur. I close my eyes and wait, ready to fly.
