Built With Mirage: The Success of Meta Apes
At Mirage, we help game studios develop high-quality Web3 games and connect them with the community of players. We started our journey with Meta Apes, which has been making waves in Web3 gaming.
Mirage’s Role in Meta Apes
Meta Apes is a Free-to-Play and Win-to-Earn MMO strategy mobile game launched in May 2022. The core idea of Meta Apes is to deliver immersive gameplay with good graphics and sound tokenomics. It is a collaborative project with Mirage in which we helped build the Web3 aspects of the game, such as tokenomics and NFTs integration.
Since its launch, Meta Apes has been going places and reaching new milestones, credits to the marketing efforts from both Mirage and the game development studio.
The game amassed over 400k players and has 33.92k weekly Unique Active Wallets (UAW) as of March 8, 2023. It also has received accolades and funding from some of the biggest incubators in the Web3 space. Meta Apes is one of the winners of the MVB V accelerator program and received an investment from Binance Labs. Meta Apes was also selected for and participated in the inaugural cohort of the Beacon accelerator program in January 2023.
In the last week of February 2023, Meta Apes was ranked as the #1 Game on BNB Chain by DappRadar. Meta Apes was also featured in the 40 Best BNB Chain dApps 2023 and 15 Most Used dApps on BNB Chain in 2023 on DappBay.
Having a sound token economy is essential for a Web3 Game to sustain and succeed. We scrapped Play-and-Earn and launched a Win-to-Earn reward system in which the best-performing players get rewarded with the native token PEEL. The community welcomed the change, and we are collecting feedback actively on this and continue to improve it.
What’s Ahead for Mirage?
Working with Meta Apes has been a great learning experience. We were able to understand the Web3 gaming audience and build connections with great projects and people. We are working closely with Starfall Arena, a Web3 MOBA, which is in beta now. We are super excited to put all our learnings into practice and make Starfall Arena a success.
On our product end, we are developing Mirage Plaza and Mosaic.
Mirage Plaza is a platform for developers to distribute and promote their games, and players can discover new games and find folks with similar interests. Mosaic is a suite of AAA developer tools that helps game developers implement blockchain technology into their games.
