We’re “Plane Crazy” — Why two law students started a design studio
Around a week ago I was talking to my apartment-mate about our plans post law school. In May next year both of us will graduate after a 5-year undergraduate Law School program that we joined straight out of high school (this will see us graduate with a Bachelor of Arts as well as a LL.B). While we’re both interested in law, we’re also extremely passionate about other things.
Right from day one, Sanyam has been the go-to designer on campus for all graphic designing needs, from logos and t-shirts to social media posts, banners, flyers and much more. He’s also the most sought after photographer for all events on campus, and the photographer of many of my most liked Instagram posts! Moreover, he’s directed several short films and video commercials.
On the other hand, I’m extremely passionate about entrepreneurship. I’m a research assistant at the Jindal Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the founder of the Startup Academy, and the Legal Entrepreneurship Cell, both being on campus initiatives. I also maintain two blogs and a podcast — one that is related to entrepreneurship in general (www.startuphere.today), and the other on the intersection between Law and Entrepreneurship (www.medium.com/Lawpreneur). In addition web designing is one of my favorite hobbies.
We’ve been discussing merging our interests and starting a design studio and business consultancy for a while. Finally we believe that we have enough experience and that the time is right. Today marks the official launch of Plane Crazy — A design studio that focuses on your business goals. P.S. — We’ve gotten a lot of questions about the name and the way we’ve spelt it — to be honest with you it is inspired by a t-shirt an apartment-mate of ours was wearing (which in turn was inspired by the inconic short film that marked the creation of Mickey Mouse). The moment we saw the t-shirt we knew we had the perfect name! Also we believe our designs are “crazy” — in the best possible way, of course!
