Awakening
A dawn so bright
A dawn full of light
The veil of darkness scatters fast
Who can stand such a cast
It’s an awakening that comes
A shocking reality found
But a conscience not asked for
For in my darkness I slept comfortable
Whether right or wrong I was noble
Now I point to them their faults
And in me they find a foe
Oh wake them too, or make me as before
