Undisclosed Tears

We walk blithely
among the wounded.

They seem normal.

On their riding mowers.
Watching flat screens.
Drinking craft beers.

Only figure a way
to get them
to lift their shirts.

You can be certain,
beneath the clothes
of every smiling stranger,

wounds weep.
