unslept and counting

and then, that night feeling crawls

at the end of the last waiters shift

the perception that your life becomes numbers, limits, allowances

how many clouds you can see from your window

how many countries you will be able to meet

the number of parties you will attend, and how to get invitations to all of them

the world is one major club, one which you must be lucky to be invited or pay to join in

the number of clothes you own is an indication of how many of these clubs you belong to

and you see that is a very big world after all

made small

by those numbers, limits and allowances

each permission you are given

is a bit of freedom you gave away
