This is such an important quote for beginner dancers. Even I have to refer back to it when I feel demoralized. It is very easy to watch the more talented and senior dancers in your class and think that there is no way you can reach their level. But that is not the point, is it? We dance because we want to explore what our bodies can do, to find a way to express ourselves and because we find joy in it. It is not a zero-sum game. So, this week, I will remember appreciate my progress during my dance class and, at the same time, strive to become better than me.
