Scripture

“The LORD is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to GOD. And the peace of GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in CHRIST JESUS.”

— Philippians 3:6–7 (ESV)

Reflection

This scripture should be read as a promise, not marching orders.

Participation

Rest in the LORD by bearing your soul to HIM because HE cares. Make your requests known to HIM. Tell and ask HIM about the desires of your heart. May you rest in the affection of GOD toward you and may you know and feel HIS promised presence around you.

For Families:

  1. YOUNGER KIDS READ: “A Little Girl and a Poor Frail Lady” on page 214 in The JESUS Storybook Bible / OLDER KIDS READ: Luke 8:40–56
  2. TALK: Before we ask, GOD knows what we need. Just like HE knew that Jairus’ daughter was sick and needed to be healed and that the old woman had been sick for years and also needed to be made better, HE knows what you need. We don’t have to be afraid or anxious or anything because we can trust that GOD is always looking out for us. And even though HE knows what we need before we ask, it’s still good for us to ask HIM for help, just like Jairus and the old woman did. We can ask GOD for what we need or hope for and then we will choose to rest in HIS response to us because HE loves us and is always doing things for our good.
  3. ASK: Is there anything that you want to ask GOD for today?
