The thing New Yorkers look forward to most during an arctic winter blast is heading down to Miami. In addition to a spike in vitamin D, Miami is teeming with healthy food options, spas, and fitness spots. Classic favorites include Green Monkey Yoga, The Standard Spa, and Jugo Fresh, as well as newer additions like Love Life Wellness Center and Pulse 163. If you can’t make it out of town, but want to live vicariously, try video-on-demand offerings via mission-360.com.

Classics

The Standard Spa

A day pass to the Standard Spa includes access to the Turkish-style hamam, cedar sauna, aroma steam room, cold rain shower, waterfall hot tub, arctic plunge pool, salt water pool, and mud pits overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Jugo Fresh

Jugo Fresh has become a critical piece of the balanced Miami lifestyle. From their individual stores offering juices, smoothies, bowls, and healthy ice cream (yes!) to the convenience of shops inside Whole Foods Markets. Favorites include the Sana de Rana bowl and Werk Your Majik cold-pressed juice.

Green Monkey Yoga

When you need a little workout mojo, head over to Purdy Ave., home of Green Monkey Yoga, Barry’s Bootcamp, Flywheel, Panther Coffee, and a host of new restaurants that make you double check that you aren’t perhaps on Abbot Kinney or Main Street Santa Monica. The area has evolved but the tried and true mainstay is Green Monkey. With two studio rooms and classes that range from beginner to Paula Walker’s handstand-focused flows, all yogis will feel welcomed.

Newer Additions
