Rachel Gorsky expanding role at Mission & Data
Mission & Data is excited to announce that Rachel Gorsky is expanding her role at Mission & Data and transitioning from an Affiliate Consultant to a part-time Institutional Research Consultant.
In addition to her role at Mission & Data, Rachel is the Director of Institutional Research and Data Analytics at Gilman School, an all-boys independent school in Baltimore, MD. As a researcher, Rachel is dedicated to advancing school improvement through the analysis and presentation of official, accurate, and unbiased data to support and guide school leaders. She is a regular international speaker on institutional research and analysis in K-12 educational institutions.

Rachel works with schools across the country on using data and research to monitor and drive progress on strategic initiatives. She also engages in research on the interplay of social and emotional factors in leveraging data for strategic decision-making. Her work has specifically focused on navigating the challenges that arise when data usage becomes contentious or is met with skepticism. As part of this work, she studies the significance of fostering trust in work environments and the impact of effective communication on cultivating an inquiry culture within the institution.

Prior to her role at Gilman, Rachel served as the Associate Director of Columbia University’s Survey Research Initiative, where she conducted surveys and drafted recommendations to assist charter schools and public school districts in using data as a tool for decision-making and strategic planning.
Rachel will be working with both school and association clients across institutional research and data analysis projects. Her work encompasses a wide array of initiatives, including using data to inform the hiring and evaluation of teachers and administrators, to track and promote community wellness, and to further the pursuit of diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. Rachel will also continue to present at state, regional, national, and international conferences.
