Even if not on first day (due to unreasonable ticket prices), I was still able to get a glimpse of Rajini starrer KABALI in theaters today. The first 15 minutes of the movie were simply stunning. The slow build up for Rajini intro brought out the childhood fanboy in me. The scene was elevated to another level by stellar BGM of Santosh Narayanan. This was followed by a trademark Rajinikanth style fight. But unfortunately the fanboy moments ended there for me. The movie changed note there and went on to become emotional drama till the pre-climax scene. Will just list out the Positives and Negatives of the movie and keep it simple.

Positives:

1. First 20 mins.

2. Santosh Narayanan — Both BGM & Songs

3. Found ACTOR Rajinikanth in few scenes

4. Radhika Apte — Just WOW! The expressions are so natural:)

4. Maaya Nadhi lead and the Song portion

Negatives:

1. Attakathi Dinesh — First and foremost drawback. In fact he turned some serious scenes into comical

2. **Rajinikanth’s usual charm and speed was missing. YES! the age factor has caught him

3. Pa. Ranjith’s Screenplay — Was stranded between making his type of movie / Superstar movie

4. Misled Marketing for the movie — Should have marketed it as emotional drama. But the trailer suggested something else.

**P.S: Considered Rajinikanth as negative as he has under-performed in some scenes. For instance, a kind of pain was visible when he was performing the climax action scenes which is actually a piece of cake for him in earlier days. Its high time he stops acting with Enthiran 2.0 and takes care of his health before he is pushed off the cliff. I request producers and directors to stop torturing him.

Strictly one time watch.
