Introduction

Greetings, Mithraeum Community!
We are all here again, waiting and anticipating a new experience that the second test of the Bronze Age will bring to all of us. Exactly six months have passed since we all stood on the threshold of the alluring unknown. Success favors the brave, and I congratulate you on this success. Together we proved that the Mithraeum concept is alive, exciting, and unrivaled in the market.

The main goal of the previous Bronze Age test was to prove that the blockchain provides an unimaginable advantage for competitive games, offsetting the high entry threshold and motivating players to act in a coordinated and creative way. After all, the main idea of the Mithraeum was that by combining an intellectual game and a competitive blockchain environment, we could get a machine for generating innovative solutions and content. This theory got its first traction back then, and now we can’t be stopped!

Context

Mithraeum is designed as an eternal world. And before it becomes eternal, it is necessary to solve the most fundamental problem of the eternal world — inflation. Even though the burning of game resources is present in the military mechanics, we had no guarantees that the players would fight enough and not get carried away with building the economy too much.

A possible solution for such a situation can be a new gamified mechanic based on the “Threat of Wipe” concept. So please welcome the Cultists! Their task will be to create that very wipe threat, incentivizing players to work together to delay the end of the game, cleaning the game world of excess resources. Of course, the cultists will not be able to force you to burn your resources, but they are quite able to give a hint that it’s time to rob close or distant neighbor who has been sitting on their farmlands for too long :)

Thus, there will be two mutually exclusive outcomes on this test:

  1. Normal outcome — the test ends on time, and TOP10 players by prosperity will be eligible for future rewards
  2. Cultists Victory — the test ends when the number of cultists in the world becomes too large, in which case special reward rules apply

The most interesting thing is that players have an interest in playing for any of these outcomes, including playing for the victory of the cultists. But let’s go in order..

Normal outcome

Same as the previous round. Accumulate prosperity in your zone, and don’t let others accumulate it. Survive till the planned finale, and you will be rewarded.

Cultists Victory

Help the cultists survive, defend them in battles, and let their number grow. After reaching a critical amount, they will perform their bloody ritual in 10 days and finish the test ahead of schedule. In this case, only three players will be eligible to receive the entire pool of rewards— those who have accumulated the most FOOD or WOOD or COPPER in their wallets. Rewards for top prosperity (normal outcome) in this case are canceled.

Rewards and Duration

Like last time, the rewards for the winner of this test will be future native Mithraeum tokens MTHR. The winners will be able to claim MTHR when Mithraeum's eternal world unfolds. No exact dates for this event.

Reward pool size: 0.9% of the total supply (9 000 000 MTHR)

If the cultists do not win, Bronze Age II will last 3 months. After this, the game world will be stopped, and all its assets will lose their value forever.

Summarizing

The mechanism of struggle against inflation is the main obstacle on the way of the world of Mithraeum to infinity. If this test shows good results, then it will be an outstanding breakthrough in our work and, in fact, entering the finish line for eternity. However, we always need to be prepared for possible errors. That’s why we conduct test rounds to identify and correct them..
