We’re already halfway through the 10-week research project on Morse. We appreciate all of our Researchers’ participation in Galxe so far. As we enter the second half, let us have a quick recap of the research results and find out what’s coming next.

Morse Incubation and Attributes

Say hello to Morse, the Mitosis sidekick.

This is the first Morse our lab has successfully incubated at Lab 404. The Morse breed is a special canine breed with its distinctive DN404 gene. Our researchers believe we can incubate thousands of additional Morses by collecting and studying DN404.

Like all dogs, each Morse will have different physical and personality traits. The Researchers at Lab 404 will train each dog with different equipment based on its characteristics and acumens. Some would like to wear cool shades and Hawaiian shirts, while some would prefer clean-cut suits with ties. We also expect some extraordinary mutations, such as holographic or cyborg Morses.

Please understand that we cannot disclose more details due to Lab 404’s strict confidentiality rules, so stay tuned for further developments.

DN404 Samples

Our Researchers found an important pattern about Morse in the past five weeks: a new Morse was incubated per every 1 DN404 sample we gathered. However, it disappeared when we accidentally misplaced some of the samples. When we gathered 2 full samples, incubated two, and lost 0.3 DN404, one of the Morses disappeared. Based on our research, we have concluded the following rules about this anomaly:

  1. When you collect a whole DN404 sample, one Morse is incubated.
    - Translation: When your $MORSE balance reaches 1, 1 Morse NFT is minted. When it reaches 2, another NFT is minted. And so on.
  2. Every time your DN404 sample goes below an integer (1, 2, 3…), one Morse disappears.
    - Translation: One of your three NFTs gets burned when your $MORSE balance goes below 3 (e.g., 2.5). If it goes below 2 (e.g., 1.5), one of your two remaining NFTs gets burned.

We’ve also found a repeating pattern in which Morse disappears.

  1. When you have ≥ 2 DN404 samples and two Morses, the Morse that was most recently acquired disappears when your DN404 sample balance goes below 2.
    - Translation: The NFT that you most recently minted or acquired gets burned.
  2. It’s highly difficult to retrieve your gone Morse because it’ll go to the back of the incubation queue
    - Translation: Your burned Morse NFT gets placed in the back of the minting queue, so it’ll be difficult to mint the same token ID by collecting $MORSE

How it works: Let’s assume that you acquired Morse NFTs in the order of increasing Token ID (e.g., 1 -> 2 -> 3 -> …). In other words, your most recently acquired NFT has the highest Token ID.

Every time your $MORSE balance goes below an integer (1, 2, 3…), you lose your most recently acquired NFT. Please note that this change will appear in the transaction modal on your wallet. We highly recommend you make sure to double-check the Token ID here to preserve the NFT you desire to have.

Current research status

For all Lab 404 Researchers, browse your DN404 collection here.

For all aspiring Researchers, it’s not too late. We estimate that the total number of DN404 samples is 10,000, and around 3,500 will be available through participating in Galxe research missions.

The remaining 6,500 samples can be collected through the various campaigns, promotions, and activities within the Mitosis ecosystem. Stay tuned for announcements on the details.

Lab 404’s Upcoming Expansion

Our old laboratory was getting too crowded to fully accommodate the incoming Researchers. We’ve secured a suitable place and are now in the final stages of relocating to the new, improved laboratory. After the renovation is finished, our Researchers will be able to conduct the following experiments:

Claim DN404

Researchers can claim their hard-earned DN404 samples in the new laboratory. Access the Morse Terminal and follow the upcoming guidelines to claim the rewards for your contribution to Lab 404.

Browse Morse

You’ll automatically receive newly minted Morse NFTs based on your DN404 balance. Check them out on your Dashboard.

Morse in the Mitosis Ecosystem

Morses are more than cute faces. Thanks to their DN404 gene, they’re wicked smart. The Mitosis team has much in store for Morses in the upcoming Mitosis ecosystem. Having Morse NFTs will benefit their owners while they participate in Mitosis as users.

Continue participating in Galxe, collect DN404 samples, and become the owners of the one and only Mitosis sidekick.
