Mitosis is excited to announce its collaboration with Ethos, a security layer that enables Cosmos chain to bootstrap security effortlessly with restaked ETH. By bringing in Ethereum’s security to Mitosis, Ethos will ensure that Mitosis can scale without concerns about security.

What is Ethos

Ethos is a security coordination layer that enables L1 developers to easily bootstrap a validator network, leveraging the economic security of restaked ETH. Since the restakers already earn yield from native Ethereum staking, protocols can lower their security costs by over 90%. Ethos eradicates the complexity of deploying a new L1 by providing an all-in-one security module that chains can seamlessly integrate into their trust layer.

Mitosis’ Security Requirements

Mitosis is a scalable cross-chain liquidity protocol that provides secure, capital-efficient interoperability. It enables users and developers to freely explore opportunities within the blockchain landscape without barriers between networks and ecosystems. To break down the silos, scalability is the primary objective that the Mitosis Liquidity Protocol aims for.

One of the profound aspects of scalability for a cross-chain liquidity protocol is the liquidity volume. However, a protocol becomes a more attractive target for exploitation when the TVL grows. Therefore, robust security is necessary when a liquidity protocol aims to scale in its volume.

More precisely, Mitosis seeks a security measure that can be quantified numerically and is notably high upon measurement. Without a methodology for measuring the security, the maximum liquidity volume that a protocol can manage (i.e., TVL) remains unclear. Also, the measured value should be high enough to avoid limiting the protocol’s liquidity volume.

Mitosis X Ethos

Ethos is the ideal partner that checks all the requirements of Mitosis security, for it brings in Ethereum’s security — a security module that is quantifiable by the amount of staked ETHs and the largest in its staked volume. Initially, Mitosis will integrate Ethos’ security module into its chain. In the long term, Mitosis will incorporate Ethereum’s security into its cross-chain liquidity protocol by utilizing the Ethos module to secure the Hyperlane ISM (Interchain Security Module).

This partnership will redefine the security and scalability in the cross-chain liquidity layer, fostering a more cohesive and interconnected blockchain ecosystem.
