MIX Acuity 1.2.0 Released — Video Functionality!

The latest version of the MIX Acuity decentralized social media platform has just been released. It is available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
The major update is that it is now possible to publish and play videos in the desktop app. Currently in the web app at https://mix-acuity.app videos can be played but new videos cannot be published yet. This will change in the next update.
When you publish a video it gets transcoded into multiple resolutions and these are published one-by-one. Go to the “Transcoding” page to see the progress.
The published videos are stored on IPFS. Currently published videos are served from the MIX IPFS bootnodes, but this is not sustainable. In a later version it will be possible to host your videos elsewhere, e.g. on commercial IPFS hosting services such as Pinata.
When you publish a video on Acuity no one can stop you and your video is not hidden from anyone who wishes to see it.
