How Did MixMarvel Come into Being?

They have always been fascinated with video games. It is not strictly for the rich gameplay, visual components, or time-spending, but for how they pictured new worlds. For many years the game industry was rich, immersive, and beautiful. However, with time, they began to feel that the worlds they loved are not evolving anymore. With all the technological changes, the virtual universe stayed changeless yet still beautiful and fascinating. But they saw endless possibilities and new experiences of the virtual world in the real one’s technological progress. They knew they were not the only ones to think so.

Grasping their dream, they started acting. They believed that to create an organic system to allow the virtual worlds to flourish again, to find a new direction, they should use new technologies and disciplines like token economics and create a realistic Ecosystem. There was enthusiasm for new technology in their hearts, and blockchain, as one, became the underlying architecture of the open world they were eager to build.

Eventually, they accomplished their dream. You know it as MixMarvel.

The Beginning of MixMarvel Ecosystem

HyperDragons: MixMarvel Strives to Expand Decentralized Application Gameplay

Back in the days, MixMarvel started its journey with a benchmark project in the blockchain gaming world, HyperDragons. The Ethereum version of the game was first launched as early as March 2018. In just six months, the total number of users and daily activity surpassed CryptoKitties on Ethereum. HyperDragons became the top blockchain game at the time. Shortly it also launched on other public chains and had the dragon’s image as one of the ten leading blockchain figures in 2018 by CoinDesk.

The core gameplay of HyperDragons revolved, no surprise, around cultivating dragons. The dragon assets gained in the game by players could be used for training or trading.

CryptoKitties and the current NFT blockchain games mostly have simple gameplay, with only collection and breeding functions. HyperDragons went further by integrating competitive gameplay and designed an economic system cycle. Besides, different public chain versions of the game also created unique gameplay based on the chain’s characteristics instead of simply transplanting and copying.

For example, players could conduct HyperDragons Rocket Arena and mine through the dragons they held. The mining revenue was distributed according to the percentage of computing power. Does it sound familiar? That is the beginning of the current “NFT mining” created by HyperDragons as early as two years ago. The NFT mining in HyperDragons was one of the world’s first attempts in realizing NFT DeFi and is now being used as a reference by many decentralized applications.

Rocket Protocol 1.0 Attempts to Increase Decentralized Application Performance

The bold idea of HyperDragons required specific technological advancement. MixMarvel did not stop seeking further improvement for its released and future products despite such outstanding accomplishments. In this process, MixMarvel realized there were several technical issues that they and the whole industry were facing. The industry could not support large-scale applications: blockchain systems, especially public chains, generally had low performance and expensive handling fees. The development, operation, and maintenance system of blockchain dapps was challenging to be used by large-scale games and applications.

To solve these problems, MixMarvel came up with Rocket Protocol. Rocket Protocol 1.0 was designed as a Layer-2 scaling solution based on Ethereum. Ever since the Rocket Protocol creation, MixMarvel has enjoyed the pleasing outcome of the cooperation with Rocket Protocol. By combining Layer-2 and Layer-1 smart contracts, it solved the cost and performance problems of in-game high-frequency state updates while also retaining the decentralized characteristics. By combining layer-2 and layer-1 smart contracts, Rocket Protocol 1.0 significantly reduced each operation’s time, allowing simultaneous asset transfers from layer-1 to layer-2 while minimizing the costs. For such reason, layer-2 can operate efficiently during the Ethereum congestion period, effectively fighting congestion. While solving the technological issues MixMarvel was facing, Rocket Protocol also vastly expanded other development possibilities and a mechanism that can shuttle NFT among multiple dapps to help users efficiently reutilize their digital assets.

Rocket Protocol Evolvement

With the track of time and ideas within MixMarvel brilliant minds, Rocket Protocol kept surpassing itself. The 1.5 major updates brought an efficient VRF+BLS consensus mechanism, introduced proposal nodes and verification nodes, and the block generation verification (node governance). Multi-chain identities, DID architecture, bridging, and chain-crossing were also integrated into the protocol.

Rocket Protocol 1.5 opened the doors for MixMarvel’s other legendary games. For instance, HyperSnakes. The HyperSnakes was the first multiplayer real-time competitive game in the blockchain circle. This game inherits the core gameplay of the renowned Snake. It innovatively introduced multiple modes such as snake farm management, matching chaos, and random battlefields. HyperSnakes broke through the dual-drive method of quality and technology, allowing mass users to play blockchain games with zero thresholds, enabling them to easily experience blockchain games’ new entertainment models. Due to Rocket Protocol’s vast update, the HyperSnakes application was able to be released on ETH, Tron, and ONT almost simultaneously. The popularity of the game after the launch also proved the distribution strength of MixMarvel.

Based on the 1.5 updates, the relatively recent Rocket Protocol 2.0 has brought even more advanced upgrades. The state machine was upgraded to Ethereum-compatible EVM, the cross-chain smart contract upgraded to a verifiable multi-signature smart contract, and the bridge and cross-chain technologies were upgraded to PoW consensus-based relay chain. The NFT standard protocol was upgraded to Dapp-based NFT protocol for data isolation and supporting asset shuttle. Web3 SDK was combined to transform Rocket SDK to make Rocket browser compatible with Ethereum browser. Rocket Protocol has also added the Rocket browser to view transaction data and NFT exclusive data. Rocket Protocol 2.0 is safe, fast, supports NFT and is fully compatible with Ethereum-based digital assets and decentralized applications. Rocket Protocol 2.0 indicates the improvement of blockchain games’ underlying technology and provides technical support and convenience for blockchain games’ mass production.

The New Generation of MixMarvel

Rocket Protocol 2.0 innovations have inspired MixMarvel to present a whole new generation of ecosystem products. The eco wallet has a unique cross-chain and cross-contract technology, combined with its high-performance blockchain infrastructure, to provide a robust infrastructure for the digital asset field and promote digital assets application and development.

Unlike other wallets with vital tool attributes, the MixMarvel eco wallet has its specific game genes. LeCube: Dedicated to Further Expansion of NFT Lifecycle and According Blockchain Technology

The other significant innovation of the MixMarvel platform is the NFT creative community, LeCube, currently under testing. Nonetheless, the existing NFTs face two main problems. One is that NFT pictures and NFT functions in applications are stored in a centralized server. The survival of an image depends entirely on the service time. Its utility depends on the project party’s service capability. The use of IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) for NFT image storage will be a future trend. However, the stability of the IPFS network itself needs to be verified. The other problem that NFT faces is the credibility of the image source. Since the blockchain network cannot identify the image creator, a picture downloaded from the Internet can generate NFT assets and even be auctioned off as an artwork NFT.

However, images stored on centralized servers and assets of hard-to-confirm content sources are difficult to be called actual digital collectibles in the long run. Therefore, LeCube hopes to go further in the NFT direction and make digital collections more decentralized, coded, and capitalized. LeCube will provide a brand-new NFT creation and application paradigm, allowing on-chain native artwork creation so that images can be expressed in a decentralized manner. After Rocket Protocol is fully integrated with LeCube, this process will become a lot faster. At the same time, the costs will be significantly shortened, allowing much higher-definition NFT images.

MixMarvel vs. the Future

Being a fond metaverse fan, MixMarvel constantly works on modifications and expansions that can become the core that puts together the world anticipated by many. Currently, MixMarvel has come with at least four features up for changes: open world, free construction, asset interoperability, and community construction. MixMarvel has partially achieved this conclusion with the help of blockchain development, but there are still shortcomings.
