MixMarvel’s CSO Claims MMO Games are the Solution of Blockchain Gaming Plight
In the ongoing Asian Crypto Week in Singapore, MixMarvel’s Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer Mary Ma shared some original thoughts and visions of Web3 games as a keynote speaker at the ABGA Blockchain Gaming 2022 Summit and the TOKEN 2049 event. Challenges and Opportunities of Blockchain Games

To power up the openness and transparency in game rules and better transform player experience, underlying blockchain technology needs to be upgraded in a constant manner.
Content
In Web3 games, players can create value through their own assets and actions, and truly take ownership into practices. Asset interoperability would mean that players have the rights and opportunities to use and profit from their assets outside of the game, thus further enhancing their applicability of ownership. With multi-chain and real-life interoperability being achieved, Ownership of in-game assets can be amplified in a Metaverse.
Relationship
Besides the well-known DAO and guild models for co-governance, the CC0 and other licenses for co-benefit, innovative in-game editors and sophisticated collaboration mechanisms would make co-creation practical and sustainable for the game and its players. Therefore, more efforts should be made to demonstrate the Web3 spirit of co-creation, co-governance, and co-benefit among players and game officials.
MMO Games — the Metaverse Express
MixMarvel emphasizes the importance of MMO games, which are considered as the best choice for Web3 integration and the highway towards player-oriented Web3 games and a Metaverse future. And here is why.
MMO games are conceptually homologous to Metaverse, both being about building a virtual society. The core modules of MMO games, such as 3D spaces, Avatars, Avatar interactions and some more technical modules, highly overlap with those for Metaverse usage, making it easier for MMO games to develop towards the Metaverse.

The result will be directly generated by the blockchain instead of being controlled by game officials referencing the player behavioral algorithm, to ensure transparent and random distribution of in-game rewards.
Open World
An open world of autonomous game-verse will be the next to establish, where infinite UGC in the form of assets is well supported. To better achieve this, besides CC0 and other licenses, innovative in-game editors and sophisticated collaboration mechanisms would make co-creation practical and sustainable for the game and its players.
Metaverse
The ultimate stage of Metaverse, where users get to have an immersive virtual experience of various real-life-like activities, will be marked by multi-chain and real-world interoperability. For this, there will need to be dedicated non-gameplay lands and cross-chain solutions. At this stage, we could expect commercialism in the form of events like concerts and expos and also crypto shuttle of assets, data, etc.
To achieve these landmarks, forging the collaboration among content, stakeholders, and ecosystem to facilitate the growth of Web3 games would be a good start. An infinite extension of Web3 game content is foreseeable with co-created gameplay and game assets by players. A sufficient base of players and token holders will be attracted by co-governance mechanisms and sophisticated tokenomics. And Web3 games will certainly attain growth momentum with the help of co-benefit scenarios and profit distribution methods and incentivized players.
