Where is “Home”?
Ah yes, the age old question: “Where is home?” My answer to this has often changed over the years; France, Canada, Senegal, heaven, wherever my pillow is, wherever mom’s food is, etc. This year, I’ve been able to find another understanding to this ambiguous word. Home is in my roots. Home is where I’ve planted myself and let myself grow. Yes, I may be uprooted every few years, but they are still the same roots that have experienced different soil. I may lose pieces along the journey, but the strongest ones remain. Jesus, let me be rooted in you stronger than to any other home.
“Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful.” -Colossians 2:7
