Doing your best to prepare for the worst possible outcome.

Wildfires, hurricanes and volcanic eruptions have taken a toll on the United States since July 2017. As communities nationwide are heavily impacted by life-threatening conditions, the local and national media coverage provides strategies to mitigate further devastation.

Specifically targeting homeowners affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, this digital campaign implemented crisis communication strategy through media relations and first-hand testimonials. Harvey, directly impacting Texas, and Irma, directly impacting Florida, displaced thousands of homeowners, families and communities. These two states are hotbeds for HOAs and recovery assistance was vital to the rebuilding of these communities.

Monitoring both local and national news outlets, the campaign strategy also included sharing trending news sources that directly mentioned affected community members. By implementing external news content, PR inquiries and press opportunities for disaster relief became more frequent.

To further the Disaster Preparedness and Relief campaign, the inaugural Florida Leadership Forum for Community Associations featured key education sessions focusing on community strategies to mitigate damage and reduce risk of natural disasters.

The campaign generated over 1k site visits to both Disaster Preparedness & Recovery and Texas/Florida pages.
