✍ ML for Newbies — Week 2
In week 1 we wrote the k-NN classifier. The idea behind k-NN classifier was that similar points are bunched close together.
This week we’ll look at a flowchart-like classifier called decision tree. The idea behind decision trees is to repeatedly split the dataset so that we can get a pure dataset. Each split guides us along a path in the flowchart till we finally reach a class label. There are different ways to create decision trees and different ways to measure the purity of a dataset.
