As Social distancing and lock-down continue around the world, People are searching for new ways of communication. As Zoom’s popularity increased, people found that Zoom was not fully prepared for this level of demand.

Flaws are coming to light rapidly and the company tries to react quickly to the security issues that were raised by the researchers.

Here are some security and privacy tips to keep in mind while using the application.

1. Stick to the Web client:

Zoom client apps encountered several flaws, in some versions hackers can access the device camera and microphone; in others, websites can add users to calls. Zoom already fixed theses problems but Zoom apps remain vulnerable.

For these reasons using the web-client is safer as the web version doesn’t have the permissions that an installed app has.

2. Use your work email to register:

Another flaw was discovered causes the service to consider emails from the same domain — unless it’s a really common domain like google or yahoo — as they belong to one company and share their contact details with each member of that group.
