How to use Data bricks Community Edition.

You will learn how to get your data bricks community edition in this post!

Databricks provides a unified, open platform for all your data. It empowers data scientists, data engineers and data analysts with a simple collaborative environment to run interactive and scheduled data analysis workloads. You can get your very own slice of pie for experimentation.

Follow the below steps:

• Go to “https://community.cloud.databricks.com/login.html”
• Click on “New to Databricks? Sign Up”

• Fill in the form present & click on GET Started for Free

• This would bring you to set-up a cloud account page, you can opt for “Get Started with Community Edition”.

• There would be certain verifications done.
• Check your email!
• Once the email is verified, we can login into our workspace, now this has limited functionality, but its a very place to start with experimentation.
• We have to create a cluster & attach the same to the notebook for execution.

Creating you first Cluster

• To create your first cluster, on the left side navigation bar click on compute.

• On the left corner, look for “Create Cluster” button.

• Give the Name for your first cluster & leave the other settings as default.

• Click on “Create Cluster”, please note that in community edition we can only create 1 cluster.

Voila!! we are all set to try Databricks!
