Cumulative Curve Charts are a great way of showing how unequal a distribution is¹.

The dataset being used below is the Superstore Dataset available on Tableau Community.

Steps to create a Cumulative Curve Chart —

  • Drag a Date field to the Column shelf and select Month

  • Drag two numerical fields to the rows shelf

  • Change the Quick Table Calculation for both numerical fields from Sum to Running Total
