While blockchain technologies rapidly transition from being a mysterious buzzword to an increasingly booming industry, professionals from all horizons want to learn more about it. Known for its blockchain community, Montreal offers various educational opportunities to get started and network with key players in the field.
On March 20th, 2018, Addiroum, (Association des Diplômés du Département d’Informatique et de Recherche Opérationnelle de l’Université de Montréal) French for the Computer Science Alumnis Association of Université de Montréal hosted an event to introduce former students to Bitcoin and Blockchain, on the UdeM main campus.
The 2-hours francophone conference was opened by a wine and cheese networking session and was followed by a panel discussion comprised of three insightful speakers:

- Brian Leiberman, Director of Operations at MLG Blockchain
- Francis Pouliot, Co-Founder of Catallaxy
All three shared their own personal experience since they began working in the industry. With real case studies, Brian discussed the technology disruption that is happening today and shared his views on his favourite future applications of blockchain.
