For Sam, life was all about writing. He just finished a play called Echoes of the Heart, inspired by the events of the last two months. In it, Sam delved deep into the entangled emotions of their relationships with Alex and Jordan. Crafting it felt like making a confession, a lyrical exploration of love’s fluidity and the bravery required to explore its depths. Now, he felt relieved. First, it allowed him to reflect on his relationship with Alex, his partner for three years. Sam realized how much she meant to him and how their relationship changed him for the better. Writing the play helped Sam understand his own desires, and suddenly, all his feelings became untangled and clear. And finally, the play made him realize the role Jordan, a young actor, now played in their relationship.

Alex and Sam e-met Jordan on Flure, a dating app for like-minded people. He mentioned he was a homoflexible, polyamorous panromantic, and jotted he was an aspiring actor in his bio. It was a match made in heaven for Alex and Sam: they were thrilled about the opportunity to experiment with the young, attractive Jordan. Their curiosity and sympathy created a spark about to turn into a strong flame. For Sam, it was a moment he had been waiting for: he was happy with Alex, but their relationship started to feel dull, and he was afraid of losing both his partner and his artistic inspiration. When he came across Jordan’s profile, which radiated beauty and confidence, he was overjoyed their sympathy was mutual.

Alex was also thrilled about meeting Jordan. She was frustrated that their relationship with Sam lacked the element of surprise that would blow her mind away. When they started chatting with Jordan, she felt this new acquaintance excited her.

For their first date, Sam invited Jordan to their apartment for drinks and light-hearted flirting. The evening was charged with casual yet palpable chemistry, allowing all three to connect on a deeper, more intimate level. They shared stories about their experiences and felt like their connection was more than natural.

Amidst the soft music in the background and the dim glow of string lights, they moved closer, the initial awkwardness melting into a comfortable closeness. In these small, honest moments — over shared glasses of wine and the occasional touch — a deeper attraction was nurtured, naturally progressing into more intimate encounters as the evening wore on.

It was Alex’s first experience with two guys. She rolled her eyes and moaned as she felt the lips kissing her body and hands touching her gently. Sam squeezed some lotion onto his fingers and put them into Jordan’s ass. Jordan moaned and kissed both of them feverishly. While Sam and Jordan made out, Alex found herself on her knees, their penises touching her face. She began working on them with her mouth and hands and was happy the two seemed to enjoy it. She climaxed when Sam came into her mouth and looked at him with gratitude. Sam kissed Jordan and stroked his penis. He felt so excited he thought he would come again just because of Jordan’s lips tested. They kept going all night, then fell asleep exhausted in each others’ arms.

Jordan came the next weekend and then the next: the three felt harmony between them. For Alex, Jordan was a good friend and a way to escape from the boredom of everyday life without looking for lousy casual relationships that would hurt Sam. For Sam, on the other hand, it was an adventure. He always knew that he was bi, but it was the first time he could experiment so boldly. He felt he was in love again with Alex and Jordan. As for the young actor, he just felt happy to find new friends who would understand his desires so well.

As the weeks rolled into months, the three were almost inseparable. Jordan stayed three, sometimes four days a week, in Sam’s apartment, and it nearly felt like they were living together. Sam was happy; to some extent, all of them were. Sam penned Echoes of the Heart to give voice to his thoughts, a short play about their uncanny relationship. With good reason, he expected to get some hype, as for many, their polyamorous union still seemed odd.

On a beautiful summer Saturday, the three had dinner in Sam’s apartment. The kitchen was warm, the air filled with the aroma of roasted vegetables and spiced lamb. In the middle of it, Sam said nervously:

“By the way, I finished my play,” his voice was steady despite the pounding in their chest. “Our play, a play about us. About all this — what we are and what we could be.”

“I want you both to read it. Because you’re not just characters in it; you’re the heart of it,” he continued, looking at the two people dear to him.

Alex reached for Sam’s hand, squeezing it. “We’d love to,” she said, and Jordan nodded, his smile soft.

“It’s going to be a success! And I hope I’ll be lucky to play myself!” Jordan laughed and looked at his friend with admiration.

In the comfort of Sam’s apartment, they again felt connected and happy that they had each other. When the dinner was over, the lines between life and art blurred, and something magical and spontaneous grew.
