Cheating: Admitting it felt like a betrayal of my feelings for Ginny too…
Ginny was right. You only live once. But…
I knew I had to talk to Ginny. We needed to set a few boundaries. Be honest with each other. I was still intoxicated with the thought and presence of her, but our reckless behaviour had brought us too close to home — close to the edge.
I called her the following morning and arranged to meet at a café in the next town. She arrived, radiating that youthful energy that had first drawn me in, and I couldn’t help but feel the pull again. But I had to keep my head clear.
We sat down, ordered coffee. I took a deep breath. “Ginny, we need to talk about this… about us.”
She raised an eyebrow, a playful smile teasing her lips. “About what, John? You looked serious.”
“Yeah, I am,” I admitted, trying to find the right words. “We can’t keep flaunting our affair so close to home. It’s too risky. What if Shelly or Tim find out? Or my wife?”
She shrugged, unbothered. “You only live once, right? I enjoy our time together. I know it’s not forever, but let’s just have fun…
