The last word Tanner said to her was to call her baby for the first time…
Coco woke up with a sense of excitement. It was Tanner’s birthday. She loved birthdays — even loved other people’s birthdays! Waking up beside the birthday boy was sweet.
The night before Tanner found her in his bathroom with a glass of champagne and in a tub with balloons. Coco had always had keys to his apartment even before they became friends with benefits.
There was not a discussion about it either, they were at his apartment one night Netflix and chilling — the way they did without really chilling. Then Tanner put his hand on her thigh and kissed the nape of her neck. Coco did not process anything but the deep way he turned her on. She spread her legs on the couch and they kissed for the first time. After that they both had keys to each other’s apartments and often stayed the night.
It was sweet.
Tanner was intuitive as a lover and knew when she wanted it rougher. He took her glass of champagne from her and took her hands so she could get out of the tub. Balloons burst and floated in the bathroom as she did.
“Happy Birthday to me?” he mused when he was close enough to kiss her.
