We started the trip with a flat tire. Not on the Tesla but on Fede’s bike, coming home from work. According to him, it is the second time in a decade. So, we left Edina around 3:30 PM and hit some heavy traffic in the metro area of the Twin Cities. After an hour of bumper to bumper traffic, we started going at highway speeds, crossed into Wisconsin and started enjoying the scenery of a mix of farmland and forests.

All packed, ready to go!

After about 4 hours, we stopped for dinner at Culvers, in Mauston, WI, close to the supercharger. It actually took us longer to eat dinner than recharge the car back to 95%.

I drove the first section. Now Fede is driving the second section. I didn’t realize how used to using autopilot I have become and how much more relaxing it is. Fede, on the other hand, has never used autopilot, and for at least the first hour he was a nervous wreck…. will it turn? Will it stop?

The girls played multiple card games, watched 3 episodes of Friends and got started with the license plate game. After this portion of the trip, we have already seen license plates from fourteen different states. Probably the farthest away from where we are were California, Maine and Georgia.

After 400 miles we arrived at the hotel in Schaumburg, Il. We still have 730 miles to reach our destination. Tomorrow is going to be a long day.
