Hey Everyone,

It’s been about a month since we debuted our private beta, and we really haven’t made any announcements on what has been going on behind the scenes. As a team, we are committed to transparency as well as communication between ourselves and more importantly with our users. In fact, we are launching a discord channel where you can join us and ask questions about the products and our plans and even how we do stuff. AND YES we don’t mind playing games with you, any games. After all it’s research….

In this entry, I want to lay out our plan for keeping you abreast of all the changes and additions we are working on in the system. Just because you can’t see changes, doesn’t mean they aren’t happening. Mobalytics is a work in progress, and the work is heavily based on formulas that crunch numbers from an ever increasing database. As the database grows, and we have a better understanding of our formulas, these formulas become more refined… just like wine, they age really well if maintained properly!

In addition to constantly tweaking existing formulas, we are working on new ones to power the new features coming into the platform. New features are more than just formulas though. A lot of work goes into making sure they look and feel right when you finally get to play with them. Even after all that thought and internal testing we put into it, we will still make a lot of changes based on what you tell us. Living in a bubble is hard man!

We are big fans of Discord here at Mobalytics, and we love the way they lay out their change log so we will do our in a very similar way. We also will organize our changes by our major features and label them as :

  • GPI
  • Pre-Game
  • Post-Game
  • Personal Dashboard

We realize not all those things are in the product now, but they will be… soon :)

Ok here we go:

Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease

GPI

  • Made changes to the display of games played and what data we collect so there is less confusion. Still a work in progress, so not perfect.
  • Adjusted algorithms to speed up loading times on new player GPI calculations. We are having issues with many new people calculating their GPI’s at once. Hopefully this speeds things up till we find a more permanent solution.
  • Tons of graphical and display errors with advice generated and skill attributes fixed. Tons more to go!
  • Slightly adjusted some bugs that were making formulas for consistency and positioning whacked. Not completely fixed but will be in upcoming deployment.
  • Added more new advice that generates in all fields of the GPI, if you meet the correct requirements. Some clubs are very exclusive…

Pre Game

  • Adjusted advice generation algorithms to more accurately display the proper win the game conclusions. This way our good friend doesn’t pop up so often to tell you about the nonexistent rule #99.
  • Added new team types and win conditions that intelligently search for your hero type and base the instructions on that, and still sometimes get it wrong . Oops!
  • Optimized role selection algorithm to update with current meta and continue to evolve as the meta evolves.

Coming Soon

GPI

  • Adding features that allow you to compare yourself to the same tier and role as well as specific summoners. Here come the bragging rights!
  • Adding a Throw score under consistency. Yes we know you do it!
  • We’ve heard you that sometimes you don’t get what the GPI is trying to tell you, so we are adding additional material to seamlessly do so and end world hunger all at the same time!

Adjusting formulas to more accurately represent the actual player skill

  • Positioning
  • Mental Fortitude
  • Gameplay
  • Making the team in Teamplay better
  • Various Versatile things in Versatility

Pre-Game

  • Play Styles! We want to tell you who’s hot and who’s not, and what you can do about it :)
  • Builds, we want to help you find the right place to get them, if you need them. And if you don’t, you won’t notice this feature exists!
  • Better advice for win the lane based on the champion you are playing. No we won’t tell you to switch champions.

Post Game

  • This is coming soon, but we can’t say too much. Just understand that we will help you track what you’ve done and what you haven’t done, and Santa Claus will react accordingly.

Advice

  • Always coming soon. Don’t blink, you might miss it.

Ability to see everything on smaller resolutions better.

  • We have a very anal, scratch that, detail oriented design team overseeing the process!

  • We really want our users to focus on a few critical goals to guide their development, so we will help them define and track these goals.
  • It will be kinda like joining a gym with an awesome personal trainer.
  • New Metrics that we can’t really talk about yet. Sorry!

  • Awesome new ways to use additional information to help generate the win the game advice and the win the lane.
