Approaching the end of the year, we are thrilled to unveil the latest updates for the MobiFi project, showcasing significant enhancements and exciting new features.

Product Update: December

Major Revamp: MobiFi App’s New Homepage Design December brings a remarkable transformation to the MobiFi app with its newly redesigned homepage. This update is not just a visual upgrade; it lays the groundwork for integrating a wider array of global travel services and user-generated content. The new release of the app v0.7.60 is on its way!

Discover Page: Your Gateway to Global Travel and Mobility Services

  • The new homepage, named “Discover,” replaces the previous mobility map page. It offers a compact map view for quick access, allowing users to effortlessly locate travel and mobility services.
  • Featured Service List: This section highlights popular web3 events and local travel services, curated specifically for our users.

Events Page: Tailored for Web3 and Travel Enthusiasts

  • Formerly known as ‘Discover’, the revamped Events page is now a dedicated hub for all web3 events, related side events.
  • Save and Explore: Users can mark their favorite events with an ‘Interest’ button and delve into a variety of side events and travel discount opportunities.

Order Page: Comprehensive Tracking of Your Transactions

  • Introduced in previous version 0.7.52, the Order page consolidates all purchase and order information, including parking and ongoing orders, with plans to include more in the future. It’s the one stop-shop for all of your purchases.

Beta Testing: Web App Marketplace

  • Under the radar, we’ve been developing a web app version of our marketplace, intended to be integrated into the mobile app as an embedded web-app.
  • Currently in beta testing, this web app focuses on optimizing user experience and functionality.

Exciting developments are unfolding at MobiFi, with significant contributions from our vibrant community. Here’s what’s new:

Marketplace App Testing: Engaging the Community

One of the major highlights has been the collaborative effort in testing our marketplace app. Our users are playing a pivotal role, directly interacting with our product designers and offering valuable feedback. Their participation is not only shaping the future of the app but also rewarding them with MSBT tokens, our governance token.

Collaboration with FireDAO for Event Promotion

In another exciting venture, we’ve partnered with FireDAO, a DAO community based in Singapore, to promote and sell tickets for their Christmas party in Malaysia. This collaboration highlights MobiFi’s growing presence and impact in the region.

MobiFi Live on Galxe

We’re also thrilled to announce that MobiFi is now live on Galxe! This is a fantastic opportunity for us to engage more deeply with our community. Most of our community campaigns will be hosted on Galxe, so if you haven’t followed us there yet, now is the perfect time to do so. We’re grateful to Galxe for the invitation and excited about the potential this collaboration holds.

Year-End Reflection

As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to reflect on our journey through the challenging pandemic period and economic downturn. It was a time of strategic pivots and intense pressure from our community. We made the conscious decision to remain quiet and focus on building. This path wasn’t without its hurdles: we faced departures of team members, hit several dead ends, and grappled with mounting frustrations. Yet, amidst these challenges, we gained invaluable insights:

The Reality of Startups: While the allure of becoming a unicorn startup is strong, the truth is many startups falter in their infancy. We recognized that we aren’t a unicorn yet, so we embraced the resilience and steadiness of a camel 🐫. Read Hannh Larsson’s post to understand the camel story:

Strategic Shifts:

Instead of indulging in:

  • Reckless spending
  • Inefficient, broad-spectrum tactics
  • Pursuing growth at any cost
  • Overhiring
  • Relying heavily on paid ads

We shifted our focus to:

  • Creating impactful content
  • Prioritizing product development
  • Building a lean and highly qualified team
  • Harnessing the power of AI and automation
  • Nurturing our ecosystem and communities
  • Acquiring genuine users and community members, steering clear of freeloaders or temporary enthusiasts

Self-Evaluation: Did we excel in our approach? The answer is mixed. While there’s much room for improvement, we recognize that we are both learners and mentors in this journey. The silver lining lies in our strengthened product, a scalable business model, and efficient services. Our prudent approach to spending and marketing has left us with a substantial runway to continue our endeavors.

Looking Ahead to 2024: As we stand on the threshold of 2024, we feel prepared and optimistic. Our experiences have fortified us, and we’re excited to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
