AppIt Ventures on Colorado’s Best

On Wednesday, August 31 our CEO, Rob Carpenter, spoke with Colorado’s Best about the The Climb: Jake Jabs Business Compeition, which AppIt Ventures won in 2012. The competition is part of CU Denver, and until recently was only open to college students. As Madhaven Parthasarathy, associate professor and director at the Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship at CU Denver, who serves as head of the competition stated during the interview, “Everyone has an idea… if you’re at home and you’re thinking that you might have an idea, you can apply for the competition.”

The competition is a great way for entrepreneurs to get the necessary support to get off their feet. Parthasarathy discussed in the interview the fact that most entrepreneurs don’t start companies because they’re afraid to take the leap. With this competition, that’s not a problem. Entrepreneurs and graduate students have the opportunity to get out in the real world. Carpenter wrapped up the interview by encouraging others to participate, saying, “It’s just an incredible opportunity. The visibility you get from it, the credibility that it brings, and just the connections… it’s an awesome experience.”

The deadline to apply for The Climb is September 27th this year. To learn more about the competition, visit http://www.jakejabscenter.org/
