Luminar is made by Macphun, makers of Snapheal, Aurora HDR and other great photo editing apps. The extension that loads in Photos.app gives you all the same controls as the standalone app. As with most photo editors, when you edit a RAW or DNG image, you get some extra leeway with how far you can push an image.
