Hipstamatic has a new version out: 320. It looks like it may be more solid and less crashy than previous 3xx updates.

Hipstamatic was my first iOS app addiction, with its stream of lens and film combos. It’s still one of the fastest ways to make your iOS photos look less phonesque and more arty.

It’s never been about “hip” or “cool” for me. Definitely not cool in the “I’m so cool because I use this app” kind of a way. It’s always been about the joy of taking a photo with a vision and having a tool that helps get as close as possible to that vision. A tool that adds some randomness and warmth to the crisp imagery that digital photography yields. The photo above isn’t the best example of this, but maybe these show the beauty of Hipstamatic a little better:

Hipstamatic can do double exposures, monochrome/black and white, crazy vivid colors and analog film/polaroid borders. While all of this may have fallen out of fashion, people have stronger reactions to my Hipstamatic shots than any other app-generated imagery I’ve shared publicly.
